I just wrote two words that are rather thrilling to me: “the end.” That means I just completed a young-adult novel. My 20th, to be exact. (The 18th, Stowaway, just came out, and the 19th has been accepted and is currently being scheduled by Dundurn Press). This one involves drones, and is set in grizzly bear country: The Great Bear Rainforest in northern British Columbia. Last year I visited stunningly beautiful Bella Coola, British Columbia, Canada to research it, speaking at two schools while there.
The teen hero uses his spies-in-the-sky (drones) to take down a bear poaching ring.
I’m so pleased to be finished with it after a year of hard work. And to turn my mind to whatever my next young-adult adventure novel will be. But hey, I get a week or two’s break, right?
Stay tuned!
